London Drama Trip

Forty students across KS3 and KS4 are currently in London for a two day performing arts experience. The students have been on a guided tour of the National Theatre and seen Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre.  They'll be experiencing live street theatre in Covent Garden and taking part in a workshop at Pineapple Studios with a West End performer (oooooh!).

We wish all the students and staff attending the trip a fantastic time away and a safe journey home.

Well Done Chloe

In June, Chloe L from Year 10 attended the Can You Dance? Yorkshire Convention in Sheffield along with the rest of the Junior Elite Squad at Harrogate District Dance Company (HDDC). They did amazingly well and won the judges' wildcard award, which means they now get to attend the CYD? Super Convention in Liverpool this Saturday!! Good luck Chloe and Team HDDC!

Experts by Experience

The Experts By Experience Panel is a brand-new national project working alongside Foundations to influence their work to create positive changes for children and families.

This exciting new opportunity is for young people (aged 16-25) with experience of the care system, or of engaging with a social worker and for parents and carers (kinship, foster or adoptive) with experience of family support services.

This is a paid opportunity, offering national living wage to all panel members for their time and lived experience expertise.

Panel members will:

  • Work alongside professionals from Foundations to provide advice and ideas based on their lived experience
  • Make positive changes to improve the support for children and families, by working with Foundations to look at what works
  • Co-produce communications and projects in collaboration with Foundations to reflect the needs of children and families
  • Gain opportunities for personal development – through skills training and valuable experience.

Panel members will attend a combination of in-person and online meetings as well as receiving individual personal development opportunities.

To find out more, visit the Foundations website here.
